Mansfield and Dukeries celebrate their 600th meeting

On Friday October 2nd, the brothers of Mansfield and Dukeries Circle and their Ladies welcomed visitors from across Province 15 to join in their celebration of this significant milestone in their history.

Bro. Jim Kelly entertains us with tales of the past

Following a splendid meal at the Derbyshire Hotel, South Normanton, Past Grand President Jim Kelly, KSG, rounded off the celebrations with some witty and poignant reminiscences of his early days as a Mansfield brother and his subsequent move to Chesterfield Circle. He reminded those present of the characters that enlivened both meetings and After Circle through their anecdotes and forthright views; he recalled the outstanding hospitality which was always shown to visitors at the White Post (they were never charged for their meals and always had first choice from the excellent buffet); and, last but not least, he reminded us of the great service offered by Mansfield brothers over the years to both Province 15 and the wider Catholic community, features of the Circle which still prevail today.

Brother Martin Dillon, President, thanked Bro. Jim and presented him with a small token of appreciation.
