Clergy Night 2016 – 5 December 2016
L to R: Grand President David Rowley, Fr Michael O’Donoghue (Dean), Bishop Patrick McKinney, Circle President Peter Crowe
On Monday night, December 5th, the Mansfield and Dukeries Circle held their 55th annual Clergy Night at Portland College, Ravenshead. Our chief guests were Grand President of the Catenian Association, David Rowley (of Derby Circle) and Bishop Patrick McKinney, the Bishop of the Nottingham Diocese.
Along with our principal guests, we invited the clergy from our local Deanery and many of those who had, in the past, served in parishes within the Circle area. This year we were delighted to receive 13 members of the clergy, including our Dean, Fr Michael O’Donoghue from Newark; Canon Kazimierz Bidzinski, the priest serving our local Polish community; Fr Stanley Ofoegbu and Fr Raphael Imoni, both of whom are from Nigeria but are currently serving parishes in Mansfield whilst attached to the Nottingham Diocese; Fr John Kyne, a former brother of this Circle, now serving at St Hugh’s in Lincoln; and Rev Deacon Michael Browne who assists in the Alfreton parish.
After dinner, we had four speeches (see photo at the top of this post) followed by a few brief words from our Vice-President John Fitzpatrick.
