Two new members for Mansfield and Dukeries – 25 October 2023

This evening, we enrolled two new members: Agus Riyadi and Phil Topley. For a while now, both have been visiting gentlemen at Circle meetings and we are very pleased that they have taken the important step of formally joining our Circle.

Phil has been attending Pub Lunches for a little while now, as a guest of Frank and Bessa Barrett. He is married to Liz, a retired local GP, and worships at St Teresa’s in Warsop, where he helps out by providing guitar music at Mass. He is a retired engineer and is very interested in motor racing, a hobby that he shares with our Secretary, Tony. Phil’s son races saloon cars, so the two of them can often be found at Silverstone, Donington Park or other racing circuits over the weekends when the racing season is live. He also has owned some classic cars in his time, something that he shares with our esteemed President, Greig. Phil recently took up the ukulele as one of his interests at U3A and has acquired several instruments that cover much of the ukulele range. We hope that he will share some of his expertise with us later in the year.

Agus is from Indonesia, is married to Asteria and they have two daughters. Agus is a member of Our Lady Help of Christians parish in Kirkby. He works as an IT Systems Architect and is in charge of a large international team.
